Hi Everyone! In my partnership with Pearl Lemon, I’ve had a fascinating and eventful journey that I would love to share with everyone. My name is Ebo Aneju, and currently, I am a content writer at Pearl Lemon. I’ve been working with Pearl Lemon for two months, and I think this is a great time to contemplate what I’ve learnt. Unlike traditional partnerships, there’s no ‘beginner period’ with Pearl Lemon. When you get started, you get straight to the point and start doing the tasks immediately. Even the trial week was quite full-on and challenging! But don’t be scared off by the intensity because there are always people there to help you. The communication in the Pearl Lemon team is excellent, and you will always know who you can talk to if you have any questions or need help. When I first joined Pearl Lemon, I was made to feel very welcome with lots of introduction messages from the team. You will never feel stranded at Pearl Lemon! Communicating on WhatsApp makes it feel like one big family instead of a classic office team. A bit about meTo help you better picture my experience at Pearl Lemon, it’s best if I introduce myself and my background. I’m 17 and currently doing my A-Levels at Oxford (not the university!). My background is Nigerian, but I’ve spent most of my life growing up in the UK. As a student, I have to spend a lot of time writing and researching things for notes. So it is nice that I was able to put some skills that I already have into practice and start content writing. After the recent lockdown, I found myself spending lots of time at home in front of my computer. Online school was not a great experience, and because I wasn’t commuting to school or doing any extra activities because of lockdown- I had a lot of free time. I wanted to use this free time by doing something productive instead of just scrolling through TikTok! When I found the Pearl Lemon placement, I decided to apply for it- I can comfortably say this was the right decision. In the few months I’ve been working at Pearl Lemon, I have learnt more about working in the real world than I could have done from school. My journey so farMy first couple of weeks at Pearl Lemon was a big learning curve. There were a few things, such as remote working and getting used to dedicating a few hours a day to content writing. Before my Pearl Lemon placement, I didn’t have a lot of experience with remote work. In the beginning, it did feel quite odd because I didn’t have to go into an actual workplace to complete tasks. Instead, we start our days with WhatsApp and complete the tasks we have to do. Although it did feel a bit alien at first, I got used to it quite quickly and realised it’s a very productive way of work. It allowed me to have much more flexibility and choose when I work my hours. It also saves time doing long commutes to work and back. At this time, the majority of my tasks were learning more about the company and its processes. This consisted of going through training videos and getting used to the daily workload. After I had gone through the training videos, I focused on guest posts. Tasks to do with guest posts teach you a lot about a range of different industries. Guest posts can cover an extensive range of topics and require you to research them to write about them. After focusing on guest posts and improving my writing and editing skills, I moved to Pearl Lemon property blogs. Blog posts are usually longer than guest posts and require a lot more focus. When writing for long periods, it’s pretty easy to get distracted. To help with this, I had to change the way I work and write for shorter periods with quick breaks in between. This stopped me from getting distracted and allowed me to work more efficiently. Unfortunately, I don’t own a house, and I’m not a dedicated property investor, so I had to research a lot about property markets and how they work to write blogs. At first, it was pretty challenging to write quite technical blogs with actually correct information. But as I continued and gained more knowledge, it’s become straightforward to write good and informative property blogs. Coming to a closeMy journey at Pearl Lemon has been quite eventful already, and I’m only just starting! In the subsequent weeks, I will continue writing for Pearl Lemon Properties and Kemistri. Partnering with Pearl Lemon has given me great opportunities to learn new things and put my skills to the test. I hope my next four months at Pearl Lemon will be just as exciting as the last two, and I will be able to share my experiences yet again!
Ebo Aneju Author bio: I am currently an aspiring social media manager and content writer. But I’m looking to add to this list and grow my experience and skill set.

Hey everyone, I’m Purvish. As a quick introduction – I live in India and am pursuing my bachelor degree in IT. And on the other side, I call myself a Photographer, a Snapchat Lens Creator and a web designer but not a writer (not at all). This is the first time I’m writing a blog ever. I’m not that good at writing but I am doing it because I want to share my experience as an Intern at Pearl lemon, who is doing a job for the first time in life. So, let’s go. First ImpressionIt’s been two-months since I started working with pearl lemon, as a front-end web developer & designer. This is my first work experience ever. I have joined Pearl Lemon through their internship program. And I have to say, the way everyone greets you and welcomes you is fascinating. They gave me my own work email right away & nicely narrated how this company or i would say community works and all. But the cherry on the cake was that they also gave me my own caricature. These efforts made me feel that I am part of the company and helped me adapt to the new environment easily. My JobAs my work title says, I hold a position as a front-end web developer and designer at Pearl Lemon. My job here is to design various tools and websites for clients as well as Pearl Lemon. Mainly I work under the guidance of Kaushal (He is the Head of Design at PL). He is very supportive & I’ve learnt alot from him. What I’ve done so far and My experienceIn my initial days, I worked on the designs of some tools, like Lemwords, Serpwizz etc. It was basic HTML, CSS work and I was prepared for that. But I got a reality check while working on these tools. I got to learn that what I like may not be liked by someone else. And it is very important for a designer to understand this because this happens with almost every designer. I’m glad that I got to realize this in the very starting phase. Kaushal helped me a lot to understand how things work professionally and how to create industry standard designs. After that I was assigned to build a whole new website for Pearl Lemon’s new venture, Pearl Lemon Web. Pearl Lemon Web provides various different services like Web design & development, App development, E-Commerce Web Design, Fashion Website Design, Web Development Consulting etc. Pearl Lemon Web is a multi-page site and also each page needs to be responsive so that site works seamlessly on every device. I had to complete this project in 15 days. This was my first big project and I was so excited to start working on this site. First Pearl lemon’s amazing content writers provided the content for every page. Then we finalized the theme for the website. And after that I started working on the layouts & designs for the pages. Every member of the team was so responsive & helpful and because of them I completed this project in just 10 days. I am very happy with the result, not because it was made by me, I am happy because it was my first site and it gave me a chance to explore myself and interact with different people with different mindsets and morals. It helped me a lot as a trainee and also in improving my personality. The cultureAs I said, in between these processes, I had the opportunity to interact with other team members. And I can definitely say that Pearl Lemon has one of the best interns and team members who are great in their own fields. Everyone is very genuine. Also at Pearl lemon, Our CEO – Deepak organizes team meetings every week. I would say training instead of meetings because Deepak trains everyone here. I was a little bit nervous for my first meeting but that nervousness faded away instantly when Dee started talking and introduced me and everyone. He urges everyone to turn on their video and mic, and that helps to communicate easily with everyone as well as it feels very personal with each other. I have learned a lot of things from these training sessions like how to be nice to everyone, how to socialize with others, how to manage the workload, time management, work ethics and so on. I also got to know so much about The Pearl Lemon and its technical aspects and because of that I feel very attached to this community now. Working remotelyAs I said earlier, I am a college student. I’ve classes to attend and assignments & submissions to work on. So, I obviously can’t work in a physical office right now. Pearl lemon is a remote company and that is one of the main things that attracted me. Almost every team member is located in different countries and regions. I can reach out to anyone almost at any time because of all of the different time zones. Company abstract everyone’s productivity via tools. We all use Trackabi to track how much time we work each day, and on what tasks. It doesn’t really matter when I do company work or when I do my college work. Only thing that matters is that I complete my assigned task within the given deadline and complete my weekly working hours. If I want to take a day off to finish my college submissions or for any other reasons, I just acknowledge them and as long as I finish my assigned work, they don’t mind giving me a leave. Due to this unrestrained environment, I can concentrate on my studies along with my work. Final thoughtsIt seems like two-months is a very short time period but the things I’ve learned in this period are invaluable. I was a bit nervous & anxious but also excited & happy, because after all it was the first job of my life. I’m excited to see what will be my experience going forward and What other improvements I will see in the next months. Alright, that’s all for me now! Thank you for giving your time. The post Monthly Intern Update 1 – Purvish (Front-end web developer) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/monthly-intern-update-1-purvish-front-end-web-developer/ Hi everyone, Vasco here. As I write this, I’m about halfway through my third month here at Pearl Lemon. I’ve just come back from a week off and was received back at the virtual office with open hands from the team.
Given that it’s my first update, I’ll sum up what I do here at Pearl Lemon. I’m the Business Director, meaning I work as one of the main forces of the business development team which, at the moment, is composed of Ion (Head of Business Development), and indirectly (but inevitably) Deepak (our CEO & Founder). My responsibilities are to bring in new clients to Pearl Lemon. I generate leads through LinkedIn automation and prospect through ZoomInfo and UpLead. I mainly cold-call and cold-email prospects through AirCall. Fortunately, I have team members like Celeste that pick up leads and send them my way, making my job much easier.
Another big part of my experience here is the cold calling team. It’s the position I initially applied for and therefore have been very close to the team since the start. Actually, I’ve seen the team fully rotate with new faces about 2 or 3 times. Pearl Lemon is on a path to find great callers right now and that’s been the biggest struggle right now but nevertheless, a necessary one to accomplish D’s vision.
One thing is certain, never in my life have I experienced such a steep and rewarding learning curve. I’ve lost count of the number of different skills and general know-how I’ve acquired just in the past 2.5 months. The most observable quality though is just how much I’ve grown and evolved when I’m on the phone, calling. I couldn’t have done this without Deepak or Ion, they both helped me a lot in their own ways, but at any point in time, I was 100% certain that all they wanted was to see me grow and be great.
The greatest exercise and lesson I came across (thanks to Deepak), is to practice calling numbers without doing any research beforehand. This will do a number of things:
It’s a time-saver. Research not only takes time, but it also allows for distractions and “rabbit-hole”-ing. This means that instead of calling, you’ll open the lead’s linkedin, check their company linkedin, then maybe check the website, and by now you’re deep in the rabbit hole. The problem with this, is that then you might call this person and very likely get a hard no. Losing invested time is very detrimental to your motivation.
It lets someone else say no for you. Any, and I mean anything, you see on someone’s page when you research them can very quickly become a reason not to call. But you never know how a call will go, so just call. Don’t say no to yourself before you even try.
It removes the fear. What’s scarier? A company CEO that probably has a very busy day and couldn’t care less about what you have to say? Or a phone number? Trust me, it’s the first option. As soon as you start doing this, your only obstacle is a string of simple, non-intimidating numbers.
It might seem overwhelming and very stressful at first to call and only research info on the prospect while the phone’s ringing, but after you get used to it, you won’t be able to go back. I’d include a recap of my week but it’s just started (gotta love Mondays). My work-life balance could be worse. It’s a sunny summer in Portugal but at least I can still join my friends on the beach after I wrap up the day. In the week I have ahead of me, I’m picking up from stuff that was put on hold during my vacation. I’ve also got Kristel to work with now, but that’s a responsibility I’ve gladly taken. I’ll be focusing on that and really getting my appointment numbers up. – Vasco (Business Director) The post Monthly Placement Update 1 – Vasco (Business Director) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/monthly-placement-update-1-vasco-business-director/ Monthly Placement Update 1 – Tobias Content WritingI effectively joined Pearl Lemon at the End of June and I can say with 100% certainty that I have learnt a lot and received invaluable experience. Joining Pearl Lemon was a first for me in many ways. This was my first time;
Not all companies are the same but this was vastly different from what I had done before so I was understandably quite nervous, but I’m glad to say that fear quickly evaporated. The Pearl Lemon EnvironmentFirst and foremost is the welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I was properly inducted I received my own email and charming caricature which helped me to feel like I was part of the company and helped formalise the process. On top of this, I got a ton of welcome messages in the group chat and this as well helped eased the transition period. In terms of the weekly meetings, Deepak makes it a point for everyone to always have their camera and mic on, and at first, this seemed a little daunting but all tension quickly disappeared. I never realised it but talking to a black screen with people’s names on it invokes the feel of an office divided by cubicles. However, this approach breaks down those barriers and better embodies the more social and interconnected vibe of Pearl Lemon. It didn’t feel like the tense and bureaucratic meeting I imagined in my head, but more like an informal talk about the company – from things we need to do to things we wanted to know and the cherry on top was Deepak’s famous tangents which could be anything from widely applicable life lessons to his dating history. These are a special treat because you never know what you’re going to get and that in itself is a brilliant surprise, whether it be anecdotal or introspective. Deepak is the boss so he obviously does more of the talking but he often calls upon us to give our opinions and makes it a clear point that we can interject at any point which people often do. This again adds to the feel of it being a conversation between equals rather than a boss monologuing down to his workers. The WorkloadBetween the content I had to research and write, the different programs and websites I had to learn to use, and other formalities I had to get used to, the workload at the start was quite intense. Looking back on it and having come out the other side, I realise that was most likely the point and I realise it has helped me to become better and more adept in several ways. I am still learning and improving daily but I do think the learning curve at the start worked out for the best. There are a few things I think I could’ve done better though. One of which is the fact that I should’ve asked for help more. I don’t know if it was shyness, independence or pride that made me reluctant to ask questions but a lot of my problems could’ve been dealt with a lot sooner if I asked more questions both in the group chat and personally. A lot of the team members are always willing to help out, by sending resources, answering questions and taking time out of their day to have one on one meetings. These one-on-one talks helped me to better understand different aspects and helped me to realise that they’ve all been at the same point I was, which did make me feel better about everything. As I’ve touched upon, my role of copywriting involved me researching and writing blog posts for internal Pearl Lemon blogs and external sites. While I do consider myself a good writer, this was different from what I’ve done before. The format of my other writing was usually more formal and academic but no one wants to read a report. As a result, I had to adapt my writing to better fit the Pearl Lemon format and be more visually pleasing. Source:joelsperanza Despite being a challenge, I found this change of pace interesting. As I said before, I’m still learning and improving my style with every article but building the foundation at the start was difficult but ultimately refreshing. Final thoughtsDifficult but refreshing. I think that sentence sums up my experience thus far. It is very different, it’s hard sometimes and you do have to commit but the experience and unique atmosphere it gives is truly rewarding and would be hard to find elsewhere.
The post Monthly Placement Update 1 – Tobias (Content Writing) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/8340-2/ Hello all! Today is my one-month anniversary of officially starting my internship at Pearl Lemon, and I’m excited to start sharing my thoughts and tracking my progress through these monthly blogs! To quickly introduce myself, I’m a rising American college Sophomore in Linguistics (for now) who’s now a bit over a month into my summer vacation. I still worry a bit about how the ~20 hr/week workload will look once we hit late August and I’m back in school, but as I’m largely still getting my footing in the first place, I’m comfortable crossing that bridge when I get to it.
What I’ve Been Up ToMy job title of Digital Marketing Executive is intentionally meant to be a bit of a catchall, since I was brought on to work HR, and my trial week was slightly extended for me to try out working some LinkedIn campaigns because there was a need for more support there. I was excited to do both, and thus my work as HR Executive and LinkedIn Marketing Manager melded into what you see today. By now, my tasks have been varying greatly even from those two, as I’ve taken on some work in social media management (planning out what blogs to post when and scheduling them to post automatically on all platforms, strategizing how to optimize Deepak’s personal social media pages) and even a couple in writing just yesterday (making a cold call script off some recordings, bulking up the answers on a FAQ page). Being a person who picks up most any task from others with a lot on their plate is turning out to be a pretty great informal model for me; I’m here in the first place to gain varied work experience and learn what kind of tasks I actively look forward to and which I can juuuust get through and be done with. My one consistent daily task has been the description of that LinkedIn management title. Every day, I keep up with a dozen or two LinkedIn direct message conversations hoping to bring some leads- potential clients -far enough down the ‘piqued interest’ assembly line that I book them a video call with another employee more qualified to actually give them the pitch on what services we offer in digital PR support. From dropping in to hang out with Deepak doing cold calls for clients a few times, I’ve learned that passing a lead off to someone else is the ultimate goal there too. As someone who just made my own LinkedIn account a few months ago, these kinds of insights on what professionals use it for, as well as what lofty terms like “Lead Generation” actually functionally mean are exactly the kinds of things I’m trying to get out of this position. So I’ll more than consider it a good sign that I already have some of these takeaways.
ChallengesTo be honest with you, I’ve struggled a lot with personal time management and productivity for quite a while now. I pretty easily fall victim to the vice of my age group: procrastination. With this in mind, the incredibly flexible structure of Pearl Lemon both has the potential to exacerbate my existing weakness and provide a track to improving it. Let me explain. One, being able to work at any time of day for as many hours as comfortable means there are no tangible repercussions for starting my workday at 9pm after blowing the entire afternoon off. No real reason to be scolded, and surely a skilled procrastinator can ignore any personal guilt of all the day’s wasted time. Two, the structure has tools to keep you from abstracting your productivity or lack thereof into meaninglessness, and you’re still undoubtedly part of a team. We all use a Chrome Extension called Clockify to track how much time we work each day, and on what tasks. We also send a screenshot of our Clockify day to the team group chat to mark the end of our personal workday. With this, I can tell the standards of how much I have done compared to how much I probably could or should have, all with the power of quantifiable data to keep me from convincing myself that a less-than-standard work day went better than it actually did. Trust me, it’s okay to have off days. Just acknowledge them for what they were, or else you’ll never get to dissecting them and learning how to do better. Don’t let your bad days compound by tricking yourself into calling them good days. Working at Pearl Lemon, I have plenty of opportunities (like writing right now!) to self-reflect and work towards both personal and professional improvement, and I’m already starting to see the progress take shape.
Goal-SettingTo wrap up, I’ve decided to create some pointed goals for myself to complete before my next blog around July 24th. I’m sure there’s some extra motivational power in these being posted online, so here goes:
Alright, that’s all for me now! I’m excited to see how much my experiences change (and improve!!) in the next month, so see you then, empty Google Doc! The post Monthly Placement Update #1 – Natalie (Digital Marketing Executive) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/monthly-placement-update-1-natalie-digital-marketing-executive/ Hello world! Welcome to my fifth monthly intern blog. The lockdown has finally lifted in a significant way and it’s really lifted my spirits. I also am starting to feel genuinely at ease working at Pearl Lemon. It’s not that I have been very nervous or anything before now, but I didn’t feel like I could drop everything for an urgent client task, and I didn’t really feel comfortable training others. But now I’ve done both and feel confident enough that I could do it again. I’ve also got a good idea of where everything is kept and who is responsible for what which helps me to feel at ease. What I’ve Been Up To This MonthAside from my usual content writing and PR responsibilities, I also asked to take on some design work and I’ve been doing content for the Plant Sumo social media. I have no formal design qualifications or experience, but I designed something and showed Deepak to show my potential and he let me take on the Plant Sumo social media. This is hands down my favorite thing about the company. They care more about true potential than qualifications and experience. Here is an example of something I designed! Something I Have LearnedI’ve learned that I am really uncomfortable with asking for help and asking questions. This bit me in the bum with an internal task that I had to totally re-do in the end. Self sabotage! Regardless, all failures are a learning experience and I learned that I find appearing unknowledgeable is really vulnerable for me. Now that I can recognize the discomfort of this kind of vulnerability, I can overcome it with some practice and meditation. Growth! What’s Coming In The Week Ahead
Bye for now! Amy The post Monthly Partner Update #5 – Amy (Content Writer & PR Intern) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/monthly-partner-update-5-amy-content-writer-pr-intern/ Hi everyone, This is my long overdue blog update! It has been a while, so let’s get started. Since my last update, I have been taking regular Friday team meetings. For each team meeting, I have learned something new on SEO. The next important part is to implement what I have learned into the work I do. For example, I have begun using POP (page optimizer pro) before completing an article. It gives me a good idea of what keywords I should use in the article. In this case, I have been writing regular articles for Serpwizz. Some of these are based on SEO variations, whilst others have been on their tools. This includes domain age checker or URL link checker. It looks something like this. I apologize for the poor quality but hopefully, you get the picture. The Serpwizz tool checker requires further research. After the research, you have to put it in your words so that anyone can understand it. More importantly, you have to learn how you can sell the tool to your audience. Factors such as phrasing your sentences better come into play. The past week has been challenging. I had two surgeries on my legs a few weeks ago and I have had to cope with the after-effects. It has been a new experience for sure. Here are three factors that I have begun learning about.
These factors are my goals as well. For example, my goal is to learn how to write SEO-friendly content for the web. I feel like it’s an ongoing process, but step by step, I will get there. I use this approach for anything I write. This includes blogs from any topic on the internet. I run a film blog on the side, it just adds to the writing process and it’s great practice. The other side of the equation is grammar. Having Grammarly installed makes life a bit easier, but it’s important to understand the changes that Grammarly suggests. Tailoring my learning starts with the Pearl Lemon youtube channel. There are countless training videos covering various topics surrounding SEO, lead generation, and a lot more. The videos that cover SEO and how it works on written content are the ones that I want to pay attention to. If you want to have a read, click here
My number one tip for anyone working remotely is to get fresh air when you can. Just putting on a pair of headphones and listening to music while walking is a great way to reflect on your work and relax. You then come back to your desk more refreshed and energized. For each training video, taking the time to listen to what is being said and implementing those learnings into your work is what I want to do. My goal for the weeks ahead is to listen to the key terms being said in a team meeting or a training video and gradually work them into my content.
My content will start to improve week by week. It’s still nice to have my work published on Serpwizz
That’s my main goal and I will work on that for all upcoming content tasks.
That’s it for now.
Best Sam

It’s been a bumpy ride balancing my last year of school with a new internship, but I would do it all over again if I had to! Working with Pearl Lemon has taught me a lot— more than I expected to learn in just a month. There’s not only been much change but growth.
What I’ve learnedA month ago, I wrote about 3 goals I wanted to accomplish before May 8th, and I’m happy to say that I’ve achieved two of them! Not only have I achieved goals, but because of the team meetings I’ve attended this past month, I’ve learned things applicable to both work and life. April Goals Completed
Team Meeting Take-AwaysI was able to attend two meetings (when classes were cancelled) this month. There are two things I found helpful in not only work but in life:
My Future Goals at Pearl LemonAs I continue my work here at Pearl Lemon, I am looking forward to three things:
ConclusionWorking with Pearl Lemon has taught me a lot! The team meetings are probably the most helpful because not only do they help with the business world but also with life! For instance, Deepak taught the team how to do small talk; it was a great skill to learn since I have always struggled with it. The technical and personal lessons I have gained have been extremely helpful, and I’m excited to see more of what is in store! The post Weekly Team Member Update 22 – Akhila (Research Analyst) appeared first on Pearl Lemon Placements. Via https://pearllemonplacements.com/weekly-team-member-update-22-akhila-research-analyst/ Hi everyone! Update number 4! I’m can’t believe it’s been this long. Aside from my usual PR and content writing tasks, I have asked if work was happy to let me do some design tasks and they said yes! I’ll be starting out small, just some youtube thumbnails – here’s a sneak peek at what I have designed. It’s a pretty simple youtube thumbnail, but I like it. I think simple is best when it comes to thumbnails because they are so smol ;). I’m hoping that I can get a bit more creative with designs and animations next week when (hopefully), I’ll start making some social media content for Plant Sumo. What I’ve Learned Recently:Every week we do training, sometimes it’s on technical stuff and sometimes it’s more general. For example, the other week we learned how to read Google analytics. Technical, useful. However, it’s always the more general and vague lessons that have the most impact on my working life. For example, Deepak taught us the power of ‘showing’ instead of ‘telling.’ Sounds vague right? It means to show a person what you are doing/will do – instead of just describing it. This is SO much more impactful, quick, practical and communicates some of the things we fail to articulate. Everyone is a natural salesman, we edit what we say unconsciously. Showing is the way around this. The Month Ahead:
The learning curve is still going on, which is the most rewarding thing about this programme! Bye-bye!
